Notes for GEORGE HOLLOWAY:
I have searched all the Virginia Colony lists for Holloway and find none.
Since no Holloways show up in the 1651 list of Virginia Colonists, I suspect
he was born in England and came to the new world ca 1660. Mentioned
in estate apprasial of Roger Long 25 Jul 1670, York Co. as owing money.
Most sources say he and brother George came with their father George
or were born here. I find no mention of Holloways in York County
prior to David being born.
The earliest mention that I can find is in Charles Parish records listing
the birth of David. these records go back to 1648. there is no listing of
the death of George (Sr.), only his sons.
It is my belief that George, Jr. and James were both born in England
and came to this country ca 1660 and settled in York County at that
time. I don't feel George, Sr ever left England.
