My Gr.Gr.Grandfather John Henry Heitkamp landed in New Orleans
in 1850.wherehe lost his first child. They traveled to St Louis Mo. Wher his second child sickened and died On up to Dupage Co. Ill. where they settled where he lost his first wife after giving birth to William He than married his fist wife's sister Marie. After 3 yrs he lost her. than he and William traveled to Iowa where he met and married Sophia He purchased some farmland near Webster city, Ia. And there he raised a family of 12 childen.
