I was born in Jackson, MS, the granddaughter of J.D.Barlow and Viola Bridges Barlow with a wealth of cousins, aunts, and uncles. My mother and her siblings always had wonderful stories to tell about their ancestry. My research into the family background was prompted by their stories and a desire to connect the dots of our forebears. So far we have traced the Barlow line back to a John (Henry?) Barlow who moved into Mississippi in 1811 along with his wife Lydia. Previous history is not yet determined, although there are various allegations on the web that John began life in VA,NC,or GA. Any additional info would be greatly appreciated. The Bridges line continues further back historically, but needs some fleshing out of details.Once again, all additional info will be gratefully received. Any one wishing to discuss the findings, please contact me via e-mail. There is a family reunion being contemplated for some time in October. |
