STEPHEN A. COMPTON:b.1774,(MD?), in Jefferson county, MS(father settled in wilkinson Co., MS, in 1792 census.)in 1800 census.wife, Susannah B., b.1776 (MD?). Eldest son, Richard A. Compton. b. 1800. Am searching for the link to MD for the COMPTONS. Am currently researching, transcribing STEPHEN COMPTON's 1843 will, in its entirety. Still nothing to confirm the MD link. This is oral history.
