| I am researching my family tree from County Cork in Ireland, where my great great grandfather John DORGAN and Mary Ann MAHONEY were born about 1816. Mary Ann and her four children came to the US aboard the ship RISING SUN and landed in Boston August 11, 1858. Mary Ann Dorgan died in Grand Forks ND while visiting her son Denis in 1874. John DORGAN died in MN in 1898. Other Dorgans travelling with them on that ship were Patt DORGAN, Margt DORGAN, Timothy DORGAN, Ellen DORGAN and infant John Dorgan. It is unknown what became of these DORGANs. John DORGAN and family, and his brothers James DARGON/DORGAN and wife Susan F, and William DARGON/DORGAN all lived in New Auburn, Sibley County MN as noted in the 1860 Federal Census. I do not as yet know how John, James, Susan and William came to the US. It is believed that John and Mary Ann lived in Cork City before coming over to the US. It is unknown as to what became of James, wife Susan, and brother William after the 1860 MN Census. Children of John DORGAN and Mary Ann MAHONEY were: 1) James DORGAN b. 1844 in County Cork,Ireland, married Ellen HEALY in 1876 MN in Sibley Co. MN. He died in 1929 in MN. 2) Denis DORGAN b. 1848 Co. Cork Ireland, married Margaret SCHULTZ in Henderson, MN and settled in Grand Forks ND about 1876. He died in 1916 in Grand Forks ND. 3) Hanna DORGAN b. 1849 Co. Cork, married John H. LESTER 1869 in MN, died 1876 Henderson MN with her two infant daughters. 4) Elizabeth (Lizzie, Eliza or Betsey)DORGAN/DARGON b. 1852 in Co. Cork Ireland, died 1870 Henderson, MN James DORGAN married Ellen HEALY of Indiana in 1876 and together they had 10 children: Elizabeth (Lizzie) DORGAN(Higgins), Hannah DORGAN(Madden), Mary(Mamie)DORGAN(Donovan), Julia DORGAN(McClung), Maurice DORGAN (moved to Oregon), William DORGAN, Dennis DORGAN, John DORGAN, Maggie and Charles DORGAN(twins). They were all born in Jessenland, Sibley Co. MN late 1800's. Lizzie, Hannah, Mamie, Julia and Maurice all stayed in the US married names DONOVAN, HIGGINS, MADDEN, McCLUNG. The rest of the family, William, Dennis, John, Maggie and Charles moved to Canada (Saskatchewan) in 1906 and settled around Pangman, Sask. Canada. Denis DORGAN married Margaret SCHULTZ in Henderson MN in 1874. They had children John C. DORGAN, Rosella DORGAN, Emma DORGAN, Chloe DORGAN, Mary Ann (Mayme) DORGAN, Grace DORGAN, Dennis DORGAN, Edward DORGAN, Francis (Frank) DORGAN. Married names of girls are Wilson, Stands, Gregoire, Russell, Stevens. I am also looking for information on HEITMAR from Isztimer Hungary. John HEITMAR/HEITMEYER born 1885 married Katarina Volkenstolfer in Isztimer. They emmigrated to Canada in 1927 with their children.
