| In the 1700's, Jean Oligny left his homeland of France and moved to Quebec where he started a family. I am gradually searching for all of the descendents of this man throughout the United States and Canada, and eventually, all of the Oligny ancestors of this man in France. Much of this family settled in the area of St. Remi de Napierville as well as St. Louis de Gonzague in Quebec, not far from Montreal. My direct ancestors left this area and migrated to Wisconsin in the 1870's. Variations on the spelling of the Oligny name include Oligney and Olingy, perhaps there are more. Any information you would have to offer would be greatly appreciated, and I am very willing to share the information that I have. I look forward to hearing from you! Happy Hunting! |
