| I am researching surnames of Heitz, Halsted (or Halstead), Camp. My father's people came from Lynden, Ont, Canada and I am particularly looking for information on them. My Great Grandfather's name was Robert Charles Camp and he married Thursa Kivel (also spelled Kevell,Kibel or variations). I am also seeking for my Great Grandfather George Halsted and his father, Glen Halsted. My Grandfather's name was Glen Ebenezer Halsted. The Halsteds came from SW Ontario, Canada area also. Both families moved to the US. The Camps settled first in Michigan and the Halsteds settled in Michigan and Wisconsin areas and later moved to California. I am also trying to research my husband's family. His parents, Hazel Gertrude Long and Frederick Charles Heitz were from Northern California in the Geyserville (the Longs) and Napa, Calistoga area (the Heitzs). I believe that Joseph Heitz(an ancester) moved to california from the mid-west states sometime after the 1850's. Any information would be appreciated and I am willing to exchange information that I may have. |
