Find Family

I am researching my entire family tree, every leaf that can be uncovered. The WALKER family originated in England with mother Phoebe born around 1783, daughter Phoebe born 1813, and son John about 1806(that is all I know at this time). John married Susannah ?and briefly resided in Muskingum County, OH and then settled in Vinton and Hocking Counties, Oh around 1845. The had about 11 children. Several of their sons served in the Civil War, three dying during it. Two sons served for Illinois Regiments. William Marshall married Mary Ann SEITZ, who's family is from Maryland, parents of Sidney Walker, my great-great grandfather, as well as several others.

The MERCER family also settled in Vinton County, Oh., with a daughter Della marrying Sidney Walker, my Great-great grandparents. Della's father was Ebenezer Mercer and her mother was Sarah Ann RAY, daughter of William and Tacy Ray. Della and Sidney were the parents of my Great grandfather, Rothbe Walker who passed away in 1996 and for whom I am doing this all for as he had a great love of family and history.

The other family members I am working on would be in the BUNGARD families from PA and OH, decendents of Johan Adam Bungard born 1746; the Thomas Henry MORGAN family of WV and Belmont County, OH, the George THOMAS family originally from Lebonon (or Syria according to Census records)and resided in Athens County, Glouster OH from 1900 on until at least 1930; and the Rufus LAKE family of Fairfield County, OH. Rufus (according to Census records has NY as birthplace. He married Sarah BAUMAN, and had 5 children, Thomas Lake being my great-great grandfather. He married Alice NIHISER of Hocking Co., OH who's grandparents were RINGHISER, both born in Germany.

As you can see, I have my work cut out for me, but so far it has been fun, educational and rewarding for myself and my kids.
