| I am researching the Jones Family of Monroe County, Kentucky. The family line is as follows: 1. Richard Jones - Born 17____ 2. Fleming Jones - Born 17____ 3. David Jones - Born 1807 4. John G. Jones - Born 1851 - 5. Marvin Chilton Jones - Born 1880 - 1957 6. Julian Traweek Jones - Born 1909 - 1985 7a. Marvin Curtis Jones - Born 1938 7b. Carol Ann Jones - Born 1943 7c. Betty Lynn Jones - Born 1948 My Jones family lived on the Cumberland River close to Thompkinsville, Kentucky. My Grandfather Marvin Chilton Jones died in Thompkinsville, Kentucky in 1957 and is buried there. There is a Jones Cemetery outside of Thompkinsville, Kentucky that I toured as a child in the 1950's and it has lots of my ancestors buried there. I found information on the Internet that says the Jones (Family) Cemetery is located in the Turkey Neck Bend section of Monroe County, Kentucky. I would really like to have contact with anyone who has the list of the persons buried in this Jones Cemetery and the full names on the headstones and the birth and death dates. I remember it was a real old cemetery when I toured it in the 1950's and it was all over grown and looked like it had not been used for many, many years. My Grandfather and my Daddy and I had to pull grass away from the headstones to be able to see the names on them. If I remember correctly, I had several great, great, great grandfathers buried there along with lots of their family members. I hope to put my Family Tree information on this site real soon. I would like to share information with other members of the same Jones Family. |
