Our surname was originally spelled "Hoelscher", which was changed to its current spelling by my grand-father Harry John Helcher, back in the 30's or 40's. He married Ina Mae Root and resided in Burt, Chesening, Flint and Flushing, Michigan. Harry passed away in 1960 and Ina in 1969 in Flushing, Michigan. Both were burried by Rossell Funeral Home in Flushing, Michigan. They both lie in rest at Glenwood Cemetary Flint, Michigan.
