| William Watson, of Lancaster Co., PA, died about 1770. It is believed, but not documented, that William's father came to Philadelphia, PA in 1729 on the ship George and Ann. William's son was Samuel Watson, who moved to York Co., SC. It was there Samuel married Elizabeth McDowell, daughter of James & Mary McDowell who have travelled from Lancaster Co., PA to SC around 1751 with her widowed mother. Samuel served as a Colonel of Militia of New Acquisition during the Revolutionary War and was an Elder of Bethel Church which he helped found. The surnames I am researching at this time include: Fesmire, McDowell, Watson, and Williams AND I INTEND to research Allen, Story, Swift in the future The list continues to grow! I love to share the information I have. Fortunately, my family kept excellent bible records and they have held a wealth of information. |
