| This page is about the decendants of Thomas Charles Hellyer b. 1776 Hampshire Cty VA(WVA) d. 1859 Macedonia, Montgomery Cty, MO. m. Cynthia Racey b. 1781 d. November 16,1860. Some researchers associate the name Cynthia Tucker with Thomas Charles. The family members moved from Hampshire County and some settled in Noble County Ohio. From Ohio, some Hellyers went West to seek gold in California. George Washington Hellyer and his brother Daniel, who were the children of George Hellyer III and Mary Polly Spaid, settled in the Santa Clara Valley in 1851. Other Hellyers went to Missouri and Iowa. Hellyers have often been found in areas known to include large concentrations of Quaker families. Although we know much about the Hellyers descended from Thomas Charles Hellyer I, at this time, Sept, 1998, we are seeking information about his parents. There are three brothers, George, Daniel, Robert & sister Isabella. Some of the surnames of Hellyer wives are; Van Horn(e), Spaid, Cooley, Walton, Stockdale, Acton, & Tucker. |
