Frank Helebrant was born March 14, 1887(sic.), in the Austin area, the son of Peter and Lillie Helebrant.

A lifelong resident of the Austin area, he resided at 405 8th Place NW the past 45 years. He was proprietor of the Helebrant Grocery.

Mr. Helebrant was united in marriage with Margaret Madden at Adams and she preceded him in death March 17 (sic.), 1956.

On September 28, 1957, he married Mrs. Katherine Skinner at St. Augustine Church, Msgr. Robert Jennings performing the ceremony.

Mr. Helebrant died suddenly at 6:45 P.M. June 18, at his home. Funeral services were held at 9:15 A.M. June 21, at St. Augustine Church, the Rev. Robert Maher officiating. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with the Mayer Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Helebrant is survived by his wife, Katherine; a son, Robert Helebrant, 38 Crestwood Road; three grandsons, Bernard Helebrant, 105 20th St. NW, David and Jeffrey Helebrant, 38 Crestwood Road; a granddaughter, Mrs. Robert Lewis, 506 15th Ave SW.

Out-of-town persons attending the funeral were Mrs. Delia O'Day, St. Paul, and Farel Skinner, Willmar Minn.

Obituary of Margaret Madden Helebrant, Austin Daily Herald, March 3, 1956, Austin MN


Margaret Helebrant was born Aug. 4, 1888 (sic.), at Adams, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Madden.

She attended the parochial school in Adams and on Aug. 6, 1907, was united in marriage with Frank Helebrant at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Adams. The rev. F.B. Reichl performed the ceremony.

To this union, two sons were born, Bernard Joseph and Robert John. In 1926, the Helebrants entered the grocery business and for the past 30 years Mrs. Helebrant worked daily with her husband in operating the Helebrant Grocery at 604 Moscow, as well as being a homemaker and raising a family.

She was a member of St. Augustine Rosary Society. For 44 years, the family resided at 405 Mankato St.

Mrs. Helebrant died at 12:15 A.M. March 3, at St. Olaf Hospital after being ill 10 days. Funeral services were held at 9 A.M. March 5, at St. Augustine Church, the Rev. Francis Glynn officiating. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with the Mayer Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs, Helebrant is survived by her husband, Frank; two sons, Bernard and Robert, both of Austin; four grandchildren, Bernard Francis Helebrant, Mrs. Robert Lewis (Iris), David Robert and Jeffrey Scott Helebrant, all of Austin; five great-grandchildren, Michael, Rhonda, and Dennis Helebrant, Bobby Cozette and Todd Allen Lewis, Austin; two brothers, Robert Madden, Austin, and William Madden, Calgary, Alberta, Canada; three sisters, Delia Krebsbach, Elizabeth Georgen and Mamie Tracy, Austin.

Mrs. Josie J. Caithaml, 87, died Monday afternoon at Thorne-Crest Retirement Center, Albert Lea.
She was a former Austin resident. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Helen Kycek, Hayward; two granddaughters, Mrs. Rex (Lois) Stotts, Albert Lea, Mrs. Willis (Barbara) Pfieffer, Hayward; five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday.


Obituary of Josie Caithaml, Austin Daily Herald, Austin, MN, Oct. 23, 1982

Josie Jane Caithaml was born May 8, 1885, in Red Rock Township, Minn., the daughter of Anton and Josephine Vodraska.

She attended school in Dist. 101. Her marriage to James Caithaml took place June 26, 1917, at Austin, Minn. They farmed on Austin Rt. 5, until 1952, when they retired to Austin, residing at 303 Garfield St.

She was a member of Hayward Lutheran Church, Rebekah Lodge No. 4, ZCBJ Lodge No. 38.

Mrs. Caithaml died Oct. 4, 1982, at Thorne-Crest Retirement Center, Albert Lea, where she resided.

Surviving are her daughter, Helen Kycek, Hayward; granddaughters, Mrs. Rex (Lois) Stotts, Albert Lea, Mrs. Willis (Barbara) Pfieffer, Hayward; great-grandchildren, Mrs. David (Lynde) Nelson, Rochester, Mark Stotts, Albert Lea, Willis Brian and Debra Pfieffer, Hayward; nieces; nephews; cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nov. 15, 1962; her parents; one sister, Amelia Chrz.

Funeral Services were held at 10 a.m. Oct. 7, 1982, at Hayward Lutheran Church, Pastor Nels Lillijord officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Glenville, Minn., with pallbearers, Willis Pfieffer Jr., Brian Pfieffer, Mark Chrz, Eugene Flusek, James Benesh, David Cech. Mrs. Cindy Tennis Gaudian was soloist and Mrs. Vernon Schroeder, organist. Mayer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
