I am researching the following surnames:Heliker (Helicker, Helliker) Clem Cope Tussey I have traced the Helikers back to William Heliker (Helicker) b. 1764 in Rombout, Fishkill, Dutchess, New York. My grandfather told me that the original spelling was Helliker, and that 2 brothers lived on Manhatten Island (New Amsterdam) New York near what is now Wall Street. I have the Clems traced to Johann Conradt Klemm b. 1756 in Germany and settled in Virgina. Copes start in 1598 in Marden, W.,England. Any help and/or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
