I am extremely new at this and feel as if I go in circles most of the time. I started researching my grandmothers family which has lead me in several different directions and into some walls. The stories I have been told all lead to a Cherokee Indian "chief" but I cannot prove it. As far as I know all family was in the east Tennessee and western North Carolina area. It is a constant work in progress and would would welcome any information you may be able to contribute and also help on how to effectively conduct my research.
