| Peter Hemstreet b. 1815 in New York married Euphems Stevens on July 9, 1841, she was b. 1825 in Canada. The had three children, Benjamin b. 1841 in Illinois and was killed while serving in the Civil War in the 17th Regiment, Illinois Infantry on Sept 4, 1963; John R. b 1843 in Illinois, he married Harriet Olive Spadlin abt 1863, she was b. Jan 1848. They had three children, Charles b.1865 married Jennie Ingrams 1887 in Iowa and they they had three children: Morley, Anna and Olive. Euphema G. b. 1867 in Iowa Harriet Nellie b. 1869 in Iowa Ann b. 1844 in Illinois Charles and Jennie's son Morley is the only one know to have had children. Ann married but unknown surname and no know children, Olive may have married a Clarence Crabb, but no children. Morley married Christine O'Reagen Dec 1911 in Chicago, Illinois she was born 1889 in Ireland and they had three children; Ellen b. 1813 married Nick Masse 1932 and three children. John b 1915 married Patricia Jan 7,1943 and they had nine children. Thomas b. 1925 in Chicago, Illinois was killed in World War II on May 12, 1944 at Anzio, Italy. James and Esther Bestwick came from England 1834 with seven of their eleven children; Sarah, James, Robert, Peter, John, Jane and Esther. Sarah, Peter and Robert died with out marrying. James married and has vast amount of descendants, John also married had children, who also had many children, Jane and Esther both married and had large families also. Still seeking information on lineage of these Bestwicks. Bestwicks have been traced back to 1600's in Staffordshire, England. |
