Paul was a prominent Methodist came to America from Scotland with his family about 1750 and settled in that part of the territory of Massachusetts now known as the State of Maine. One or two of his brothers brought their families and settled in or near him at about the same time. Paul raised one son and two or three daughters to maturity.
