"It was Mrs. Landon Smith, who will be long remembered by the people of Henrytown, as their Paul Revere".[The Great Saltville Disaster; Eskridge, p9]. Mrs. Smith is credited with saving the lives of a group of men gathered in the store of G.L. Smith on the night of 24 Dec 1924.
