      17. Mary Lowe, born 17 Jun 1814 in Morgan, Ohio or Noble County, OHIO; died 06 Feb 1894 in Needmore, Brown, INdiana in Lanham Ridge cemetary at son Joshua's home. She was the daughter of 34. James Lowe and 35. Rosa Rosanna Hawbach.

(Source: Susan Bayron - Belleville, Illinois - baytons#apci.net, Napoleon bona parte Stretchberry, born 1805 in Shenandoah, Virginia, died September 28, 1867 in Coldwater, Mercer, Ohio. from Gertrude Herda, Caldwell , Idaho & Mable Lowe Carpenter, Belpre, Ohio. He was one of the signers of the petition for the organization of Noble, County, Ohio. Affidavit from James Mercer of Mercer County, Ohio filed 18 Feb 1882. "In same company with Napoleon Bonaparte Stretchberry at Pittsbury Landing, Tennessee. We were sent to burn a bridge preceding the battle of Pittsbury and soldie N.B.S. accompanied the brigade and we were much exhausted. the rain and water being very deep. We waded in deep water and was thus exposed about 26 hours and whithout rations. It was in april 1862, after this said soldier NBS was afflicted with diarrhea which became chronic. Was discharged in consequence of same." Found in National Archives, enlisted 11th day of December 1861 served 3 years Private , Company "H" 71st Ohio Infantry. At time of enlistment he was 58 years old, 5'9" or 6"9" tall, fair complexion, blue eyes and light hair. It is interesting to note the patriotism of this family.He was considered an old man , 50 years, with 5 of his sons all marched off to war, the sons were James, William, Mahlon, Robert, and Ebenezer, Two sons in law were also in the service, David Keister and Joseph Shipman. It was said that Napoleon was a circuit rider, Methodist. .)

Event 3: He, age 50+ and 5 sons James, William, Mahlon, Robert and Ebenezer all went to
Event 4: fight in Civil War. He enlisted DEc. 11, 1861 in Co. H 71st Rgt. Ohio Infantry.
Event 5: (found in Natl Arch.) served 3 years, suffered chronic diarrhea & discharged.
Fact 13: deep. We waded 26 hours without rations.
Occupation: 2 son in laws David Keister & Joseph Shipman also in army.
