- Turner Powellb: October 30, 1911 (57 KB)
This is a photo of my father, Turner Powell, made sometime back in the late thirties or early forties. Daddy passed away on March 14, 1982. He was a wonderful person and a terrific Dad !! I miss him very much !! I only wish that he could have lived to see the information which my husband and I, along with much help from family and friends, have gathered over the past few years. I think he would have been very pleased !! - Frank and Betty Hensley in the swinging "50's" (169 KB)
This is a photo of Garry's parents, Betty and Frank Hensley taken in the mid to late fifties. Betty Jean was a Parker before their marriage. We have enjoyed researching both sides of Garry's family, (HENSLEY/PARKER). It has proven to be a challenge, but that's what makes it fun !! - Momma, "Makin' Biscuits" (708 KB)
This is Momma, (Sarah Frances Powell), "MAKIN' BISCUITS" !! No one can come close to Momma's home-made biscuits !! Her food is sweetened with "LOVE", and there's plenty of "SPICE" in her temperment too, just the way we like it !! We wouldn't have it any other way !! "Pass the biscuits please" !! - When it's "Cotton Pickin' Time" in Tennessee (279 KB)
This is a picture of my father, Turner Powell, and his mother, my grandmother, Lena Belle Irvin-Powell, picking cotton on our farm at Nebo, in about 1941.
