Photograph of my great grandfather, William K. Essig of Reading, Pennsylvania. He was born in Bally, Berks County, Pennsylvania in 1856. He used to tell my father as a child that he remembered when Abraham Lincoln was assasinated. William was married to a german immigrant, Angeline Gusk and the couple had six children.
