Col. Harmon Bishop (b. March 02, 1812, d. January 30, 1897)

Harmon Bishop (son of John Bishop and Elizabeth Keene Jones)^{126, 127} was born March 02, 1812 in Brunswick Co, VA^{128, 129}, and died January 30, 1897 in Locksburg, Sevier Co, AR^{130, 131}. He married Mary Kelly Williams on October 09, 1834 in Bolivar, Hardeman Co, TN¹³², daughter of Paul Williams and Nancy Kelly.

In 1840 moved from Bolivar,TN to Mineral Springs,AR. Served 1 term in AR legislature before Civil War
On 1/30/1897, children still alive were: Virginia, Solon, Eleaner, Polk, Albert, and Franklin.
Harmon owned land on either side of road between Nashville and Mineral Springs, AR. He was a rough fellow. Hicks told story of fellow being hanged across from Col. Harmon Bishop's house.
Bishop street in Little Rock, AR is named after Harmon.
