Immigrated to Westmoreland Co. Va. Named changed when Francis arrived in Amer.[Brøderbund WFT Vol. 6, Ed. 1, Tree #4225, Date of Import: Aug 10, 1998]

Francis Heydon came directly from England to Virginia, [not to Maryland]; in Westmoreland County Records, Deed and Will Book No. I (1653-1672) p. 298, Francis Heydon of Virginia conveyed to John Samwaies on 8 March 1665/6 500 A, "being one half of the thousand acres bought of Mr. Wilkes Maunders of Yeocomico in the county of Westmoreland as by patent to John Smith, cooper and carpenter, and myself doth more at large appear." The patent to Wilkes Maunders is dated 9 Jan. 1662/3, and states that the land had been granted 5 June 1658." The patent to John Smith and Francis Hayden has not been found. Francis was in Virginia by 1665 or earlier, and moved to Maryland between 1666-1669.

Francis Heydon, planter of St. Mary's County, and Thomasine his wife, conveyed on 13 August 1678, a tract called "Partnership," on the east side of Portobacco Fresh; con. 300 acres (Ct. & Land: H#1.320]

Previously Francis Heydon together with John Alward, both of Charles County, were assigned by Benjamine Rozer a warrant for 200 acres, and another warrant for 100 acres,. On 15 April 1670, they combined the two and secured one warrant for 300 acres. This land described as lying in the woods on the east side of Portobacco fresh about 4 miles from the said fresh and called "Partnership" was confirmed to them ten days later.
