NC was married to Nancy b. Maryland. James M. Riggs, Jr. (Grocer) was married to Penina Riggs; children were Tisha A. Riggs, Napoleon, Francis M., Jeremiah, and James. Francis Marion Riggs and Napoleon Riggs served in the Confederate Army, TN, Co. G 12th Consolidated Infantry. Tisha (Latisha)Ann Riggs married W.C. Rosson 10-11-1861 in Carroll County, TN. ROSSON: William C. Rosson was the son of Joseph Linville Rosson and Phoebe McNairy. Joseph Rosson and Phoebe McNairy were married in 1830. Joseph L. Rosson served in the 34th Confederate Assembly (Senate) 1861-1862 representing Hardeman, Hardin, and McNairy Counties; and in the 36th and 37th General Assemblies (House) 1869-1873 representing Hardeman County. He died in 1893 and is buried in the Moore-Brewer Cemetery in Pocahontas, TN. RIGGS/ROSSON: W.C. Rosson married Tisha (Latisha)Ann Riggs 10-11-1861 in Carroll County, TN. Children of W.C. Rosson & Tisha (Latisha) Riggs: William Dee Rosson born 1880 Pocahontas, SW TN, Hardeman County married Jessie May Morlan of California. Carrie Rosson (m. Charles Sowell), Fannie May Rosson (m. Holliday Burkhardt), Lula Rosson (m. Edward Searson). John Rosson, moved to Olds, Alberta, Canada. William Dee Rosson fought in the Spanish American War, the Phillipine Insurrection, and WWI. He was career military; Army; and was stationed in Ft. Eustis, Virginia; Hawaii; Alaska, San Antonio, TX; Republic of Panama, Canal Zone; Angel Island, CA when it was an immigration point; and lived in Napa, CA; Palo Alto, CA; and South San Francisco, CA. He joined the military at age 17; in Birmingham, AL. He was living with his sister, Lula Rosson Searson and was working as a miner. William Dee Rosson's nickname was "Bama". William Dee Rosson married Jessie May Morlan August 12, 1907. STOCKDALE: Charles Stockdale, native of Ohio, married (1) Ellen Jane Kelly, native of New York, on June 26, 1866, in Freeborn, Minnesota. They had 11 children: Charles Alfred, William, Eliza Ellen, Orin, Edith, John, Ernest, Milton, Thomas, Heattie, Mary. The family moved to San Luis Obispo, CA, sometime in the 1880's. Eliza Ellen Stockdale was born December 4, 1870,in Nunda Township, Freeborn County, Minnesota. Charles Stockdale married (2) Sarah Carrie Woll. They had 10 children: Thomas Jefferson, Elizabeth, Grace, Louise, Abbie, Charles, Margaret, Effie, Wesley, & Leroy. MORLAN: William Elsa Morlan was born July 3, 1861 on Cobb Mountain, Lake County California. He was the son of Hettie Morlan and William Corum. He was the grandson of Enos Morlan (Moreland) and Jane Martin and was raised by his grandmother. MORLAN/STOCKDALE: William Elsa Morlan married Eliza Ellen Stockdale (aka Elizabeth Josephine Johnson, widow) on September 14, 1889 in Napa, California. Children were: Mary Edith Johnson; Jessie May, Charley Elsa, and Beryl Marie Morlan. |
