Notes for Jean D Allee: From: "Meyer Family" Subject: [Huguenot-L] Allee family
In the past year I was given some great information on my ancestor Jean ALLEE "from an Isle near France". The person who gave me this information said to read the history of the Huguenots to find out why they came to the States. I assume this means they were Huguenots. The years and places seem to confirm that. Here is the information I have on my Allee family:
Jean Allee b. 1672 France sp: Elizabeth Perdineau Children: Jean Allee b. 1692 "from an Island, near France" d. 1752 sp: Susanna Dassier Nicholas Allee b. 1693 France Peter Allee b. 1700 France d. 1779 William Allee b. 1702 France sp: Marion Coutant Benjamin Allee b. 1710/12 France
All the children of Jean Allee, Jr. were born in the 1720s and 30s in New Rochelle, New York. I assume that means that this family were definitely Huguenots? ********** May have come from the Isle of Man. *********** Is this possibly the missing link between the two Jeans (Jans)?? Some claim it is, but others say no. Records from Abraham Allee may help clear this up.

Nicholas D'Ailly had a son, Jan AlIEE and grandson Peter Alyea. Peter married Margritie Van Voorhees and their grandson, John (Jan) Alyea married Maria BANTA. Their daughter Rachael Alyea born 1799 in NJ married Caleb STORY in Prince Edward Co. ON, CANADA. Does anyone know who Caleb STORY's mother was? ***************************** Is this possibly another clue that Nicholas was the father of Jean rather than Jean Sr. ?? Susan Laroe? Marriette DeGrave?? Maybe these were other spouses that are not yet listed??

I searched my records and found that John Alyea/A'llee/Alley, son of Nicholas had two boys, Peter and Jacob and 3 girls with his wife Susan Laroe. Did he have Abraham with Susan or with his other wife, Marriete Garrison DeGrave? When was Abraham born? ********************* Author: Gary Morgan Date: 17 Jul 1999 12:00 PM GMT Surnames: d'AILLY
I am writing this for Dr. W. Arthur Allee, who is a direct descendent of Nicholas d'AILLY. He states in response to your message, that Jan indeed was the only child of Nicholas and Madame TYBOUT. Dr. Allee has been searching for the parents of Nicholas in order to connect that family with the d'AILLY family that goes back to 1040 in Haut-cloche, France.
