He married (1) TWIN MINERVA J FRANKS Bef. 1856 in Arkansas, daughter of WILLIAM FRANKS and SUSANNA FRANKS(U). She was born Abt. 1838 in Franks Twnshp, St Francis, Arkansas, and died Abt. 1867 in Waldron, Scott, Arkansas. He married (2) MALINDA LYNN WOOD July 28, 1867 in Waldron, Scott, Arkansas, daughter of ABRAHAM WOOD and ELIZABETH PRICE. She was born August 15, 1843 in Fayettville, Washington, Arkansas, and died Aft. 1921 in Waldron, Scott, Arkansas.

Some healers came thru Tamaha, cut it off and claimed to have healed him.
Took cancer with them to show what they had done.(Presume he dipped snuff as
Snowden did).

this morning I was glad to heare from you all. We are all well at present
Minnie and Annie has been puney last week well Aley I would like to see you and
talk a week with you I would like to be there to help you all dry appels and
peaches Aley Minie said she wanted you to come and see her and take Sam big
playes with her. She talks about you and Calanny her day --to Mele. I would
like to be there to go to meeting with you all Aley tell Joasns folks to rite
Aley we have sold -
Aley will send you a pease of Minnie draws and

Copy of marriage license to Fleener. Her age 59-did not know her birthdate.
He was 55.

John Fleener and Mary Elizabeth were working and cooking at the poor farm.
The people there encouraged them to get married. When they did the farm forced
them to leave. After Fleener's death Mary lived with Snowden as did Grannie
King and an old maid school teacher. I remember them there when we visited
