Service: Field Remount Squadron #336 in France.Inducted June 27 1918
Discharged June 14 1919 with service disability from mule kick in hip with
ice shoe. Ser No 3511369 Sergeant Demob Group Camp Funston Kansas when
discharged. A farmer by occupation, carpenter, road builder for county,
5' 11" tall blue eyes black hair fair complexion. Have certified copy of
discharge papers.

Snoden was discharged June of 1919 and arrived back in Kanima on the train
catching a buggy ride with Ms. Georgia (A J) REECE he rode to Cass with
Bertha's mother. He caught his horse to ride to Tamaha to see his sister
Ellen LADD and met Bertha at the mailboxes on the Cass to Tamaha road talking
over an hour. Two weeks later at a revival in the Tamaha Holiness Church
Snoden asked if he could sit with her and her mother. This began their
courtship. Married Dec 20, 1919 Saturday, spent night with her parents then
went to his home in Cass next day living with them for a year. Moved into
a little house back west of big house in the pasture called "Little House
Place". Moved to the big house after his father died in 1923 looking after
Martha Jane until she died in 1929. They farmed and raised cattle until
1935 when Snoden worked in public. Snoden kept a 50 gallon barrel of kerosene
at the farm so neighbors could get kerosene for their lamps. He sold it at
ten cents a gallon. He was a farmer, carpenter, WPA, Timekeeper at the mines
in McCurtain. Worked for Jack Durrett Construction Co building roads and
bridges all over Haskell County and surrounding areas. He built several
houses and two church houses; Lone Elm Freewill Baptist and Cass Freewill
Baptist. In 1958 they bought a home in Stigler at 805 NE A St. He was an
ordained deacon from the time of the reorganization of the church at Cass
in 1951 until his death Dec 9 1985 at the age of 90 years. He and Bertha
were married 66 years 11 mos and 19 days, having seven daughters and one
son all born in the house built in 1912 except the twins who were born

Open House To Honor ROBINSONS On Golden Wedding Anniversary.
Mr and Mrs Snoden ROBINSON of Stigler will celebrate their golden wedding
anniversary with an open house in their home here Sunday, Dec 21, between the
hours of 2 and 4 P M. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
The Robinsons were married here in Stigler Dec 20, 1919. Their eight children
are: Lucille KELTON, Louise KATES, Georgia PRESKITT and Lola WILLIAMS, all of
Stigler, Laurena GULLEY of Tulsa, Virginia PARKER of Ceres, Calif., Mary
WILSON of Lodi, Calif., and A J ROBINSON of Stigler.
They also have 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mr and Mrs ROBINSON are members of Cass Free Will Baptist Church, where they
were charter members. ROBINSON was ordained as a deacon in 1932 and has served
as an official of the church since that time.
Mrs ROBINSON, a native of Casa, Ark is the former Bertha REECE, daughter of
the late J A and Georgia REECE. She moved to Stigler with her parents in 1912
at the age of nine.
ROBINSON was born in 1896 in Canadian Bottom Community north of Stigler. His
parents, the late A J and Ida ROBINSON, moved to Indian Territory from
Arkansas in 1893. His principal occupation during most of his adult life has
been farming and road construction. He has also built several homes and
churches throughout the Haskell Co area. He served with the U S Army in
France for one year during World War I.

I Snoden ROBINSON (in his handwriting) being of sound mind and in reasonable
good health do this day set forth in writing my last will.
All statements made are of free good will to all my family.
To my wife Bertha I leave my part of our possessions. The house we live in
together with all the money and bonds we might have after all just debts are
paid. Todate we do not have any outstanding debts. We have $5000.00 deposited
on interest in the First National Bank of Stigler and some money in a joint
checking account. also $3000.00 in bonds in Jame's and Lola safety box.
P. S. in case she is not living at the time of my death all personal property
is to be sold and divided with all money to our eight (8) children. A J being

Reunion held in home of Robinsons June 27.
Mr and Mrs Snoden ROBINSON were hosts for a family reunion in their home
Sunday, June 27th. This was the first time the family had all been together in
30 years.
Attending were: Mr and Mrs Roy(Lucille) KELTON of Stigler and Daughter Joyce of
Muskogee; Mr and Mrs Ray(Louise) KATES and son Henry of Stigler and son
Marion and family of Tulsa; Mrs Lowell(Mary) WILSON of Acampo, Calif.; Mrs
Virginia PARKER and Daughter Vanessa of Ceres, Calif.; and Irby(Georgia)
PRESKITT and daughters Lavada, Pam and Kylene of Stigler; Mrs Lewin(Laurina)
GULLEY, Wayne and Loretta of Tulsa; Mr and Mrs James(Lola) WILLIAMS, Ricky
and Genelle; and A J ROBINSON, Allan and Davy, all of Stigler.

SNODEN ROBINSON
Snoden ROBINSON 90 of Stigler died Tuesday Dec 9 in his home.
Services were today (Thur) at 10 a.m. in Mallory Funeral Chapel with Rev Hercel
HICKMAN and Rev Curt MAXWELL officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery.
ROBINSON was born March 12 1896 in Tamaha to Andrew Jackson ROBINSON and Ida
SMITH ROBINSON. He was married to Bertha REECE ROBINSON for 66 yrs. He was a US
Army Veteran of World War I serving as a First Lieutenant in France.
He was a charter member of Cass Free Will Baptist Church were he had been a
member for 54 years, serving as a deacon most of the time. He worked for Jack
Durrett Construction Company building bridges in Haskell Co. He also was a
carpenter and farmer most of his life.
ROBINSON is survived by his wife Bertha of the home; six daughters, Lucille
KELTON, Louise KATES and Lola WILLIAMS all of Stigler, Virginia PARKER of
Modesto Calif, Mary WILSON of Acampo Calif and Laurina DICKERSON of Tulsa;
one son A J ROBINSON of Stigler; one nephew, Robert LADD of Tamaha; 24
grandchildren; 40 great grand children and 3 great great grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by one daughter, Georgia PRESKITT.

Bertha Blanche (REECE) ROBINSON 91 of Stigler died Sunday Sept 18 in her home.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Wed Sep 21 in Mallory Chapel Stigler with Rev
Delmon EAKLE officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery under the direction of
Mallory Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were her grandsons Henry KATES, Wayne GULLY, Larry GULLY, Alan
ROBINSON, Davey ROBINSON and Ricky WILLIAMS. Honorary pallbearers were
Glenn KATES, Marion KATES, Grady (Mack) KINSEY, Vernon BISBY, Johnnie BRATTON
and Larry ROSS.
Mrs ROBINSON was born April 1 1903 in Dardanelle Ar the daughter of Joseph
Anthony and Georgia (KING) REECE. She was married to the late Snoden ROBINSON
in 1919 and was a homemaker. She and her husband were charters members of Cass
Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include six daughters, Lucille KELTON, Louise and Ray KATES, Lola and
James WILLIAMS, all of Stigler. Mary WILSON of Acampo, Ca, Virginia PARKER of
Turlock Calif and Laurina and George DICKERSON of Tulsa; one son A J and Jewell
ROBINSON of Stigler; one brother Edward REECE and wife Willa of Calif; 24
grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Snoden and a daughter
Georgia PRESKITT.

SILVER ANNIVERSARY IS OCCASION FOR GATHERING
Mr & Mrs Roy KELTON celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary at a gathering
held in their Spokane Street home recently. Their daughter, Joyce KELTON, was
hostess for the event.
Another daughter, Mrs Frank HENDERSON of Norman, Okla arrived for a visit with
her parents, accompanied by her husband. The couple attends the University of
Oklahoma. Mrs HENDERSON is the former Noma Lee KELTON a graduate of Modesto
High School.
For the occasion the honored Mrs KELTON chose a gray jersey dress. A cake
decorated in silver and white and inscribed with the couple's names was served
by Mmes. HENDERSON and Lloyd STANCELL.
Since 1946.
The former Lucille ROBINSON, daughter of Mr & Mrs Snowden ROBINSON and KELTON
were married in Stigler, Okla. They have resided in Modesto since 1946. He is
employed as a mechanic by a tractor company. They are members of the First
Modesto Free Will Baptist Church.
Guests present for the celebration were, Kelton's parents, Mr & Mrs R O KELTON,
the Rev and Mrs. Boyd ALLEN with Pamela, Karren, Becky, and Tommy, Olivia
HEITZMANN, Mrs Barbara KNOWLES and Mike, Messrs and Mmes STANCELL, HENDERSON,

ROY KELTON Roy KELTON, 59, of Stigler, died Feb 17 (1978) in Haskell County
Hospital.
Services were Monday at 2 p.m. in Mallory Funeral Chapel with Rev Hercel
HICKMAN officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery.
Born in Kanima Aug 3, 1918 KELTON was a rancher and worked for the County of
Haskell for three years. He had lived in Stigler nine years and was a member
of the Cass Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille; two daughters, Mrs. Nona HENDERSON of Fort
Worth, Tex., and Mrs Joyce WENDLANDT of Stigler; his parents, Mr & Mrs Otto
KELTON of Modesto, Calif; two brothers, Rev Bill KELTON of Newark, Calif.,
and Bob KELTON of Grants Pass, Ore; one sister Mrs Reba CARTER, Dexter, Mo.

Funeral services for Ray R Kates, 84 of Stigler were held at 2 pm Tuesday at
Mallory Chapel in Stigler with the Revs A J Robinson and Dale Wendlandt
officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery, under the direction of Mallory
Funeral Home in Stigler.
Mr Kates was born Sept 24 1914 in Stigler to Joe and Edith (Jones) Kates. He
died Sunday, Oct 18 1998 in a local nursing home.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Louise (Robinson) Kates of the home;
three sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Nelda and Glenn and Patsy, and
Marion and Lucinda; one sister, Opal; six grandchildren; and eight
great-grandchildren. Mr Kates was preceded in death by his parents and four
brothers, Walter, Levi, Jack and Charlie.

Mrs Georgia Marie Preskitt, 54 of Stigler died Monday at Sparks Regional
Medical Center in Fort Smith, Ark. Services were today (Thursday) at 2 PM
at the Cross Roads Free Will Baptist Church with Rev Hercel Hickman and Rev
Melvin Reading officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery under the direction
of Mallory Funeral Home. Born Dec 24 1926 in STigler, Mrs Preskitt formerly
was a cook at Hammons Cafe. She is survived by her husband, Irby of the home;
three daughters, Lavada Trickett of Allen, Tex., Pam Reading of Stigler
and Kylene Hendrix of Broken Arrow; her parents, Mr and Mrs Snoden Robinson
of Stigler; one brother, A J Robinson of Stigler; six sisters, Lucille Kelton
and Louise Kates, both of Stigler, Virginia Parker of Modesto, Calif.,
Mary Wilson of Lodi, Calif., Laurina Dickerson of Tulsa and Lola Williams
of Muskogee, and five grandchildren.

Lived in Stigler until her death in 1981. Home next to sale barn. Irby married
again in 1982 moving to Muskogee, where he died on Mar 23, 1985. Both buried in
Antioch Cemetery.
Waged a long battle with cancer.

Former Stigler resident Irby Woodrow Preskitt, 68, of Muskogee, died March 23
in Muskogee Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Services were Monday at 2 p.m. in Cross Roads Free Will Baptist Church with Rev
Hercel Hickman and Rev James Williams officiating. Burial was in Antioch
Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home.
Pall bearers were Andy Campbell, James Roye, John Pugh, Bill Apple, Earl Pyles
and Mack Kinsey.
A former longtime Stigler residen, Preskitt was born Jan 30 1917 in Arapaho and
was a US Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a aaSinclair service station
owner and operator and bus line depot attendant for 23 years in Stigler and, in
1982, he retired from the Soil Conservation Service after 10 years.
Preskitt was a member and song leader for Cross Roads Free Will Baptist Church
until he moved to Muskogee three years ago. He was a member of the First Free
Will Baptist Church in Muskogee.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene, of the home, three daughters, Lavata
Trickett of Allen, Tex., Pam Reading of McCurtain and Kylene Hendrix of Broken
Arrow; a step-daughter, Jewel Schroder, and a step-son, Bill Richardson, both
of Muskogee; a brother, James of Richardson, Tex; three sisters, Nadine Stewart
of Bakersfield, Calif, Sue Hendrickson of Wilburton and Mary Thompson of
Muskogee; 12 grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
