I actually have a lot of information concerning the Karl Krueger/Frederick Krueger (that's right, Freddy Krueger) families that hailed from Mecklenberg, Germany and emigrated to New York in 1866 or thereabouts. They settled in the Portage, Indiana area. Common surnames in my family include: Abbott, Filipowski, Frazier, Gunder, Ittersagen, Nelson, Nevorski, and Sadenwater.
Another branch I'd like to fill out a LOT better is the Spence side, my mother's family. They are mostly concentrated in the Clinton, Indiana area and originate from Glasgow, Scotland.
Other surnames are Madison and Reese and LaRoche.
