I am researching my Heredia family from Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Raimundo Heredia appears in the registers of the San Jose Parish of Camuy, Puerto Rico in 1849 but I don't know where he was before that. He married Maria Soledad Velez and they had two children: Regina (female) and her brother, Nemesio (male), born December 18, 1848 and Christened January 1, 1849.

In addition, I'm researching my Cabassa family of Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. Mariano Cabassa was born around 1881. Mariano's parents were Jorge and Ramona Cabassa. It is said that he came to Puerto Rico from Curacao when he was a merchant marine. He married a woman from Cabo Rojo and eventually had a son named Guillermo. Specifically, I am trying to find out where Mariano was born and where did his family come from.

Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have.
