Charles Herbst of brenham, Texas

My lineage is the Karl Herbst family of Brenham Texas. Karl, my great grandfather,immigrated from Germany in the about 1870. He later Americanized his name to Charles. He married Sophia Wehrmann of Brenham. I have pretty well completed all his genealogy to the present (and will be happy to share), but can find out little of his German roots. He apparently had a sister in Germany named Anna and came from Kassel. A brother named Valentine (Val) lived in Caldwell, Tx. I also am interested in receiving any information about his wife, Sophia. Today there are no Wehrmanns listed in the Brenham phone book. I am interested is locating anyone with information about this family tree.
