My yahoo ID is genealogy_info and is used for genealogy ONLY.
I don't have much experience in using this new Family Tree Maker software. I'm sure many mistakes in how I enter the info will be made everywhere, and I am just entering info now and not editing or spell checking or checking for accuracy, so please understand this is a page I am making for my children, but wanted to make it available to anyone who may have an interest in the info I have collected.
You could help by letting me know if I typed something wrong, spelled something wrong, got a date or town wrong etc...
Special thanks to Mother, my Grandfather and Dad Odis Claxton Sr. and Jr., my Aunt Jean, cousin Tammy, Karen and Russell, Uncle Billie Pete Hughes who did the Hughes and Graves Y and mtDNA for us, my biological father who did the Claxton DNA for us and opened so many doors to newly found cousins, and Great Aunt Evelyn who did the Bradford mtDNA. Homer Lee, my computer found Bradford maternal line cousins Mary and Sandra, Al Hughes- who I think is about the kindest and most helpful, precious (and handsome) cousin a person could hope for (even if he IS a cousin 5,000 years back), Anita Hughes who I think is absoloutely beautiful, Earl Perry in Alabama, Jean in Norman, Oklahoma, My sister Big Snoop, Peggy who is a very special and wonderful friend who provided friendship, kindness and more genealogy information than anyone and she isn't even kin by blood, and to my family here at home who have been kind enough to allow me to spend thousands of hours doing genealogy
( or trying to figure out how to ) for the past 15 years.
My computer friend Peggy (who spends hours on end looking for and FINDING so MUCH information on several of my blood lines)...and finding my new exact DNA match cousins from the Claxton DNA project has made me really want to TRY to tackle genealogy again. My new Claxton kin found my GGG and GGGG Grandfathers just a few short days after the DNA results came in and Peggy found a mountain of information on my several of my lines -- sometimes with VERY little to get started with. Peggy amazes me and this Claxton DNA group are so enthusiastic. Peggy and the Claxton group make me happy again!!
Being able to actually DO genealogy is extremely hard for me since my accident. Thanks to all of yall for understanding my sadness, slowness, confusion, and all these head injury related changes in me. I know it's no fun being asked the same question 3 times a day because I forget I already asked. I am STILL in cognative rehab and physical therapy even after 3 years and 4 months post accident. I'll NEVER give up trying and people like Peggy make me want to get involved in life and genealogy again and she makes me believe in the GOOD in people again.
Before my accident I spent literally thousands of dollars on genealogy trips and paying professional genealogists to help me find info which most just took my money and ran ... so you all will understand why I send a very special thank you to all who took the time to find then send genealogy info.
I will dedicate the finished web page to the person who always talks about history, the future, ideas, places, and events...and NEVER a cross or negative word about anything or anyone,,,,my Mother, the only true best friend I have ever had....
