| I am researching the SIMS, YOUNG, WILSON, MURPHYS from Louisiana and Arkansas: My mother is : Imojean Wilson Sims, she married Harvey Sims, Jr. My grandmother (maternal): Versia Murphy Martin of Minden, Lousiaia, formerly of Magnolia Arkansas. My mother was born in Magnolia Arkansas. Don't know anything about my maternal grandfather or his people. He did not marry my grandmother Versia Murphy which produced a child, my mother, Imojean. Versia later married William Martin of Minden, Louisiana. Versia's father was Ishmel Murphy of Magnolia and his first wife was Addie Walker. My father's ancestry is much more sketchy and sparse: I know that my grandfather was born in either Louisiana or Mississippi, but later moved, settled and died in Minden, Louisiana. His father was Tom Sims. Tom's first wife was Paralee/Pearlee/Parolee Young, daughter of William Young, a slave from Bibbs County, Alabama. Not much more that that exists. Harvey Sims died in January 1982 not ever finding his father who abandoned him and his 2 brothers (Charlie and Vertis) after their mother Paralee died. Paralee died in Mississippi, I think. Haven't been able to locate records on the birth or death of either Tom Sims or Paralee his wife. I'm trying to find out any information relative to Tom Sims. |
