My interest in Genealogy began a few years ago. A couple of trips to the library, and I was hooked!

BRYANT, CHESHIRE, and WOODLE. The Woodle's are from Marlboro County, South Carolina, and eventually settled in Hamilton County, Florida.

BRYAN, BULLOCH, HANCOCK, HILLIARD, SHUMAN, WILLINGHAM, and related lines. My Hancock line settled in and around Polk County, Florida. I have quite a bit of information on them, thanks primarily to the research of others.

Who was Travis BRYAN?

The BRYAN family is my big mystery these days. Travis Bryan was born in 1819 in Bladen County, NC. He married Carolyn WOMACK, daughter of Benjamin Womack and Nancy A. (?) He died in 1900 and is buried in the Methodist Church cemetery in Bowling Green, Hardee Co., FL. He and Carolyn had the following children: Mary, b. 1850; Annie, b. 1852; Franklin, b. 1855; Joseph Travis, b. 1857; Thomas, b. 1863; Augustus B., b. 1864.

UPDATE: Part of the mystery has been solved! Travis was the son of Nathaniel and Alice Singletary Bryan. Nathaniel was the son of Philemon Bryan. I still have lots of details to fill in, but I'm making progress!

I would love to hear from anyone with any ties to this line!
