I have been searching for about 20 years for Hugh Campbell and his wife Winifred Roper. From City Directories and Census Records, I believe Hugh was born in Ireland, possibly Northern Ireland, around 1830. He and Winifred were married in New Orleans in 1858, and showed up in the 1860 census records with two children. Hugh was 30 years old in 1860, and Winifred was 20. They went on to have eight more children, all born in New Orleans. There is reason to believe Hugh immigrated around 1850.

I have been unable to find a date of birth on either Hugh or Winifred, or their parents' names or from where in Ireland they came.

Since Hugh and Winifred Campbell had 10 children, there is an endless amount of information concerning their children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. I am a great great granddaughter of Hugh Campbell and Winifred Roper Campbell and would like to correspond with anyone in this Campbell Family. I will be happy to share the information I have gathered.

Allied families are Bernius, Farrell, Servat, Swords and Tierney. Also, Ducasting, McCloskey, Grunberg, Deane, Bonneval, Simpson, Gilbert, Babin.
