I have been chosen to reseaerch our family tree. By chosen I mean no one else wanted the job. So far I have been very successful and not very successful at the same time. James Hern and Elizabeth (Folliot) Hern arrived in Boston Massachusetts before 1871 with five children. John Hern brn 1862, Mary Hern brn. 1863, Ambrose Hern brn. 1864-65?, James Hern brn. 1866, And Ellen Hern brn. 1869. There were three more children born in Boston, Thomas Folliot Hern brn. 1871, Walter Henry Hern brn. 1874, And Bessie Hern brn. 1877. I am still searching for links to other branches of this family tree to help me fill in alot of blank spaces. So if any of these names sounds like it could be one of your acestors please contact me and we can compare notes. We could be cousins. I am descended from James and Eliabeth's son Walter Henry Hern who married Edith Linfield Monk in Stoughton Massachusetts on July 24, 1896. Edith was the daughter of Charles Monk and Amanda Keith of Stoughton. Walter and Edith Had two chidren Clyde Monk Hern and Grace Evelyn Hern. Edith died some tme after the birth of Grace and Walter then marrie Carrie Ella Jones who was born in Mansfield Massachusetts, They had one daughter Charlotte Hern. I am descended from Clyde Monk Hern who married Dorothy Louise French on Lynn Massachusetts. Clyde and Dorothy had two sons, Dana Robert Herne, and Norman Stanley Hern. The misspelling of Dana's name has continued till this day. I am descended from Norman Stanley Hern who Married Carole Leona Allen of Boston, Massachusetts. Norman and Carole had six children, Norman Bryan Hern, Diana Grace Hern, Gordon Allen Hern, Donna Marie Hern, Robert William Hern, and Debra Lee Hern. We are presently spread out over the east coast of the U.S.A. and we have children and grandchildren who will continue our family into the future.
