I am researching the Harman, Harmon, Herman family. Jacob Harmon appears in the 1880 census of Armstrong County,Sugarcreek Township, Pennsylvania. Jacob was born in 1835 and died in 1910. He married Catharine McKelvey, who was born in 1836 and died in 1892. They had the following children: William Smiley born April 23, 1859. Allen C. born 1863. Margaret V. born 1868. Joseph F. born January 31,1871. Joseph was my grandfather and he married Margaret McGrogan on June 29, 1900. Joseph spelled the Harmon surname Herman.
