I am currently reserching the Hernández family name as it streches back to the Canary Islands in Spain. Secondary surnames I'm interested in is Diaz, Rodriguez, and De la Rua.

My family first came to the USA from Cuba in 1962. My generation is the first to be born American. Both sides of my family hail from Cuba. My paternal Gradfather is first generation Spanish Cuban. His father came to Cuba from Spain in circa 1920. His parents and my ancestors have lived on Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain at least since 1840. I am most intersted in this Spanish orgin of my family and what their origins were before coming to Tenerife (if indeed they are not a native people).
