THE BISHOP Family Home Page

After twenty years of research, this is what I have organized to this point. As life continues, so does this huge family. It has been like a giant puzzle combining many families held together in the middle by my loving parents, Clyde Finley Bishop and Willie Augusta Mayes who loved their families so much. So, this website will be a dedication to all of our families as an ongoing work in progress.

I began developing my information at the last Bishop Family Reunion at Lake Brownwood; Brownwood, Texas in July, 1982. It was joy to interview and record the last of the living children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of William Pinckney Bishop and Mary Elizabeth Anthony (my grandparents).

The research on the Hesters and Thorns began when the research by Ruth Harlow and husband was passed on to me. They traveled and documented so much information. What a blessing for us.

I began putting together information on my husband's family through the extensive amount of documentation that his mother, Mary Jacobs left. Much of the Hergenrader information came from Esther Hergenrader of Lincoln, Nebraska.

We feel so blessed to have been placed in the midst of so many wonderful families. We just hope "we get it right".
