The Hersom Home Page

I am trying to corroborate information on one branch of the Hersom family originating with Jacob Hersom born about 1747, possibly in Maine or Massachusetts. He had 7 children (no birth dates/locations) who collectively had 20 children between them.
Sammual Turner Hersom born 12/17/1839 in Oakland, Maine (formerly W. Waterville) is the only solid bit of information I have. With the exception of the name Sammual Turner Hersom, the birthdate and year, none of this is substantiated. Sammuals parents were named Benjaham Hersom and Lavina Witham.

I am trying to complete a tree which will trace my roots. There are several branches of this name within the Broderbund family of software, but none which correlate to the group of names I have, although they are certainly related. My branch migrated to the West Coast. Another branch is located in the state of Iowa and at least one other must reside on the Eastern seaboard. Help is appreciated and everyone will benefit from my discoveries.
