We enjoyed our first family reunion in July 1999. My mothers maiden was Helen E. Heythaler and since it is customary to spend your growing-up years with relatives of your mothers choice, we were very close to the Heythaler side of the family. Therfore it was only fitting to hold a Heythaler Family reunion. It was fun and interesting to see and meet all the "relatives" that we never knew. My cousin Sharron(Macklem) Reed had spent many years putting together a Heythaler Family Book and a Boerner Family Book. I had read through it in the past, but the reunion inspired me to invest in a computer program and build a Herman family tree. The truth is that it is more an "all in one" family tree because my curiosity led me in all directions. I have included adopted children, without distinction, and adopted a liberal policy in cases of divorce by showing the children where the parents want them. My research has included family bibles, interviews with grandmas, and other family members. I used the legal documents uncovered in settling family estates, and of course, Sharron (Macklem)Reed's research. I hope you enjoy seeing the more that (800) eight hundred names that make up our family tree. If you find any errors please email the corrections to me at once to billherman@home.com Thanks for being interested enough to read my comments. I hope the tree bug bites you like it did me. If so, enjoy. Best regards, Bill Herman.
