George A Peterson- Olaf's only sibling adopted out
Anton Sahlbom was left with 2 small boys when his wife, Mathilda Dahlstedt, froze to death in Minnesota,in a mining camp while he was gone.. Anton allowed Frank and Christine Peterson, acquaintances, to adopt George, and he became George Alfred Peterson, forever lost to his Sahlbom family...George was born 24th of April, 1887, and the Peterson's filed for adoption on July 5, 1888. George died on 21 Aug 1946, in Seattle, Washington, not 60 mile from where his brother lived...It took over 110 years for the two families to become acquainted again! This photo was sent to me by Monte, George's grandson, who discovered his grandfather's birth name of "Sahlbom" and located us through the internet! Thanks, Monte, for helping bring the family back full circle! :)
