This branch of the HIDDLESTONE family is descended from GEORGE, born in Dunscore, Dumfriesshire, Scotland sometime between 1807-11 and HELEN or ELLEN LAMB, born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England sometime between 1810-16.
Their daughter ELIZABETH BAILLIE HIDDLESTONE, born about 1840 in Ecclefechan, Hoddom Parish, Dumfriesshire, had illegitimate son [my grandfather] JOHN HIDDLESTONE b. 1863 in Ecclefechan. He moved with his grandparents to Shotton, County Durham before 1871 and married [Easington, Durhan 1887] MARY ANN ELIZABETH OVENDEN [1866-1932], daughter of DAVID OVENDEN [1839-1866] and Mary Ann Harrison. Mary Ann Harrison-Ovenden's 2nd marriage was to Charles Heydebreck in 1870.

John and Mary Ann Elizabeth had 13 children between 1887-1908 of which four carried the line forward: JOHN GEORGE [1887-1964] in Scranton, Pensylvania, USA; MARY ELLEN [married name DOVER ...1889-1979] in Bingley, Yorkshire; ALBERT WILLIAM [my father ... 1896-1962] in Bingley; and FREDERICK VICTOR [1905-1966] in New South Wales, Australia. Their descendants are now living in England, USA, Australia, France and Guam, though only EIGHT remain who carry the Hiddlestone name ... and only three of those who are of child-siring age!

I have so far had no success in finding actual births and marriage of GEORGE HIDDLESTONE and HELEN/ELLEN LAMB or the birth of their daughter ELIZABETH BAILLIE HIDDLESTONE.
