Fred U. Hammett II and Associated Families Ms. and La.

My father, Fred U. Hammett II was born in 1910 in Natchez, Mississippi, his father was Fred U. Hammett Sr who drown in the Mississippi River prior to his birth, his grandfather was Everett Dodd Hammett of Natchez, Mississipi and his great grandfather Obediah Dodd Hammett, who lived in Fayette, Ms.and was born in Bowling Green,Kentucky.

This Hammett family extends back to the Hammett/Combs lines of early Virginia. This family is also related to the Mississippi Barlands, Martins, Hootsells, Montpeliars, Greens and more I am sure.

One of my most frustrating searches is for more information regarding my father's mother Ida Mae Rossin, who after her husbands early death remarried Howard Hootsell. Her mothers name was Emma "LNU" born in Tennessee, her fathers name unknown Rossin born in Kentucky, her sister Adah Bertha and her brother Willie W.Rossin. To date I have no other information regarding my grandmother Ida Mae Rossin.

family information for her father William Reid Wooten's family (still looking for his mother Nora Dorman who married Thomas Jefferson Wooten) from Early Mississippi and Tennessee, and her mother Annie Pearl West's family of Eros, Louisiana > Tallapoosa,Alabama > Georgia and ??? and also the Flannagan, Canady and Carroll families of early Alabama and Georgia. In the West family I cannot go beyond John W. Franklin West, father of Robert Soloman Perry West, father to my grandmother.
