Surnames that we are searching for are Kovach, Rego, Gard, Haas, Carder, Foraker, Hietanen, Pohto and Meyer.
We are researching Hietanens and Pohtos in Finland and the USA, ancestors and decendents of Matti Hietanen (1859-1915) and Matti Pohto (1874-1935). Both families were originally from the Ylistaro, Vaasa, Finland area with both families having family members emigrating to the United States (Fairport Hbr., Ohio) around the turn of the century (1890-1900).

The Kovach and Rego families came from Hungary around 1900, residing near Pittsburgh, PA, then moving to Fairport Hbr, Ohio. Not too much is known who actually came over from Hungary as of this writing, but we think it was Joseph Kovach and Joseph Rego both around the turn of the century.

We are searching for descendents of the MEYER Family from Switzerland with Xavier MEYER(1861-1936)having emigrated from Switzerland in late 1800's.

We are researching the HAAS Family begining with desendants of Johann HAAS(1837-1909) of Duseldorf Germany in late 1800's. He had 10 children two of which we know emigrated to Ohio in late 1800's Margaret, Jacob, and perhaps Franz.

We are researching desendents of Jeremiah GARD(1848-1905) from Wood County, West Virginia.

We are researching ancestors of Mattie Victoria CARDER(?-1905) from Doddridge Co, West Virgina.

The Foraker Family begins with James Fouracres(1754-1849) from Berkley Co, West Virgina in late 1700's who moved to Guernsey County, Ohio in very early 1800's. Searching for decendants and ancestors.
