Hester Matilda Higgins (daughter of Daniel J. Higgins and Henrietta Goldsborough Frampton) was born March 11, 1879 in St. Michaels, Md., and died November 23, 1961 in Easton, Md.⁴⁵. She married (1) Archie McNeal Thomas on August 16 in St. Michaels, Md, son of Elisah Thomas and Margaret E. R. Cheers. She married (2) Lawrence Bates Cox on July 02, 1903 in Easton, Md.⁴⁶.

"Pearl (Hester Matilda Higgins) had two daughters by Mr. Cox, who died suddenly. Pearl and Mr. Cox lived on Water Street in the house where Helen McSteen lives now. 1st daughter was Charlotte, did not know the name of the second daughter.
