She married Guy Leroy Ames on October 28, 1908 in Alta Vista, Iowa, son of Oscar Simon Ames and Celinda Melissa Thomas.

According to my Aunt Kay, Amy was the illegitimate daughter of Mary Beatty. Mary had Amy and left her with an aunt and ran off to Illinois and married James Roach. According to Aunt Kay, Amy lived with the aunt until she married Guy Ames.

I rememer Great-Gramma Ames as a serious, heavy-set, "mooshy" woman. One of my favorite memories is catching fireflies with my brother Eric in her and Great-Grampa's backyard.

I was 16 when she died.

Amy was raised by brother and sister John and Anne "Aunt Nan" Beatty, who lived with their mother until her death.
