Obituary of Hiram Abiff Hills transcribed from August 1885 article in Northville Review

Hill[s]. – On Aug. 23^rd, at his home in Novi, Deacon Hiram Abiff Hill[s], aged 79 years and 3 months.

Baptized at Brookfield, N.Y., when thirteen; at twenty married Miss Betsey Stevens; at thirty removed to Michigan; cleared a farm in Highland; another in Novi; had three sons, one now living. Served as deacon about thirty years. Being a man of abiding faith, he had a happy decisiveness of convictions, and evenness and honesty of character. He was distinguished by industry and intelligence, and held many local offices, and was Justice of the Peace many years. His aged companion is sustained by unfaltering faith in her Savior.
