The Hillman Family

We are in the process of revising the Hillman genealogy and will be uploading the data soon.

PLEASE NOTE: In 2006 several news articles circulated a report about an African musket found in Philadelphia by a NJ man that attributed this gun to Col. Josiah Hillman of the NJ State Militia.

The stories are all FALSE and misleading!! That African made weapon HAS **NOTHING** TO DO WITH COL. JOSIAH HILLMAN, nor was it ever owned by anyone in our Hillman family tree. When the person who owned the gun was informed of this he agreed to stop spreading such misleading information.

Again, this African musket has NO CONNECTION WHATSOEVER WITH COL. JOSIAH HILLMAN, his descendants, or any other member of the John Jr. Hillman family of NJ.
