Notes for Amma M Ralph: Grandmother like to have fun and had a mischievous side. I loved to spend time with her. She loved her flowers and keep them beautiful and clean. Her home was always very clean and when we stayed over night we could expect some good smelling powder sprinkled in those white sheets. She loved to dress up with her hi-heels on and pearls. She didn't have electricity but we had warm fire places and lamps that used oil. We use to tease her because she went to bed at dark and got up at daylight. We would say you go to bed and get up with the chickens. She was a good cook when we could get her to cook. She had the wood stove and it was a job to get ready to cook and hot in the summer. We didn't mind because we liked the things from the store to eat that we didn't get at home. Cokes, cookies and banana sandwiches.
