Catherine Barnes (daughter of Christian Barnes)^{47, 48, 49, 50} was born Abt. 1812⁵¹, and died Bef. 1892⁵². She married (1) John Benton. She married (2) Jesse Wiggins. She married (3) Robert Riddick Hill on 27 Sep 1848 in Gates County, NC⁵³, son of Robert Hill.

Notes for Catherine Barnes:
In Christian Barnes' will (August 1856), he mentions "my living Heirs" including "Catharine wife of Ro. R. Hill." This likely identifies Robert R. Hill's second wife's father's name

Helen Hill Taylor (in her notes of 1931) said that Catharine survived all three of her husbands:
1. John Benton
2. Col Jesse Wiggins
3. Robert Riddick Hill

In her will of November 22, 1882, Catherine Hill mentions
- her daughter Catherine
- her daughter Cornelia Wiggins who does not appear to have ever married before this will was made
- her daughter Sallie (deceased) and Sallie's daughter, Annie Catherine Cross and her husband Elton E. Cross
